When we made a first sketch of what would be the medalion, we already knew with whom we wanted to work with. I have crossed paths with Blandine whilst working on the renovation of a boulangerie in Paris in 2022. When I sent her the final sketch for the mosaic, she already had a vision of what the doorstep should look like. Together with Corentin Roussel, they managed to create an amazing art piece of « L’Auberge de l’Ours et du Lion » around a fig tree : a powerful reminder of the place’s 15th-century history, as well as that of its former owners, where Mr. Vartan Berberian’s father planted a fig tree, which today flourishes in the building’s courtyard.
